Black Refractions: Highlights from the Studio Museum in Harlem

Reflecting nearly 100 years of art history in America, the exhibition reflects the breadth of The Studio Museum’s 50 years of supporting and incubating artists of African descent. The exhibition will fill all four of the main floor KIA galleries.

Where We Stand: Black Artists in Southwest Michigan

The exhibition features ten Michigan artists working in sculpture, photography, painting, ceramics, and printmaking. They are emerging artists and veterans in their field who address issues as diverse as the environment, mass incarceration, the criminal justice system, and concepts of beauty.

Resilience: African American Artists As Agents of Change

The exhibition features more than 60 paintings, photographs, works on paper, and sculpture from our collection, and explores the museum’s holdings by African American artists from 1870 to the present, reflecting their vital contributions to the story of American art and history.
